Rustic Melody Kindle Edition

Can a boy from the country and a guy from the city ever make it work?

Adam Chambers has never seen eye-to-eye with his father and is reluctant to take over the family’s property-development company. To clear his head and work out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, Adam leaves his responsibilities in the city and heads out to see the country.

He isn’t much closer to deciding what to do with his life when he arrives at one of Australia’s largest events, the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and meets Joey Callaway.

Since Joey’s father’s tragic death left Joey the family’s debt-ridden pub, Joey has struggled, desperate to turn the business around and give his mum the life she deserves. A break away from the pressures of running the pub is just what he needs, and a hook-up with Adam is the perfect way to forget about his troubles.

The one-night stand might just be an opening act. If Adam and Joey can follow the music in their hearts, perhaps they can heal each other and create a melody that will last a lifetime.

It's no often I can find works of this genre set in my country, let alone on the same coast I inhabit, so when I do I get "squee" excited! I Love hearing familiar names of places and being able to say "I've been there" or "Yes, that's exactly what that place is like, including the locals," and that's half the joy I get from the book just on its own.

When the story itself turns out to be so beautifully written and full of just downright real and lovable characters who you connect with and just want to hug and say "I know how you feel, mate, and It's all going to be okay." Well, to me it makes a winner of a book.

Nic Starr's first foray into self-publishing, to me, has been a huge success. The product, aside from the captivating story and the promise of more to come in the series, is excellent and a credit to her and her team, and that cover, with Adam, *sigh*

I loved the instant connection between Joey and Adam and had high hopes that they would connect and somehow get to their HEA, somehow. They are just two totally different guys, leading separate lives hours away from each other and tied to commitments to their families. How was is ever going to happen or survive?

A poignant reminder that love always wins if you follow your heart and take those chances. Thanks Nic for that reminder and for putting it into words to share and keep us all warm and fuzzy (even in the hot Aussie summer heat). I know I'll be rereading this one again and again, and eagerly anticipating the next two additions to come. I'm looking forward to revisiting those familiar places and meeting some new guys and hearing their stories.

I love when a novel is based in my own country, there is just something about an outback romance. That hits the spot and Nic Star does not disappoint with Joey & Adam. I was a little apprehensive about reading this as I find some m/m sometimes can't seem to balance the romance with the sexual chemistry. But this novel had it all the chemistry and yet sweet tender moments. As two completely different men there backgrounds are opposite. But both struggle with family issues. Both grow together and seem stronger with each other. I couldn't help but fall in love with both of there personalities.
Some may have issue with the Aussie slang but it's something minor and does not take away from the overall enjoyable read. Beautiful Story.

I love Aussie authors as I can related to just about all of the areas that they write about 🇦🇺. Joey and Adam have a sweet love story to tell, but it’s the caring natures of both characters that gets you in. They’re both very family oriented which was such a refreshing change, although Adam and his dad have a way to go in the future. I’m looking forward to reading the next book, so watch this space 🥰📚❤️

I originally bought this book on Amazon Australia in the hopes that it would take my mind off the previous book I read, it was true crime and very nightmarish so it kept replaying over in my mind so I needed something light and fun to get me out of that mindset, this was the perfect story to pep me back up. Considering it is only a short book at 174 pages I was completely enthralled with the characters, I fell head over heels in love with both of them and their special kind of romance. I've read plenty of trashy m/m romance before however this was really sweet, it has all the sexy love scenes that we all love but the romance and the characterization really made this book more than the average gay erotic romance.

Me being a country boy myself and having a strong interest in country music I saw a lot of myself in the character of Joey- he is stuck in a life he isn't completely fulfilled with and then along comes the charming Adam Chambers to sweep him off his feet and bring some much needed joy to his life.

It's a great little story that will bring a smile to your face and help you escape from your everyday life.

I will definitely be reading the next 2 books in the series as I thoroughly enjoyed this story... If anyone can recommend anything similar to this please let me know :)

Firstly, because its set in Oz.
Secondly because it seemed credible.
Thirdly because the pace was right, not too slow or convoluted.

5.0 out of 5 stars with a good plot, not much angst

Adam is trying to decide what to do with his life and is drifting around the country until he meets Joey. Joey is taking a much needed break from his job trying to keep his pub afloat and caring for his mother, who is going blind. As the two men get to know each other, they find themselves reluctant to let each other go. Through the months that follow, they work together and support each other. The story is well written, with a good plot, not much angst, but with lovable characters that you cheer on to the last page.

Adam and Joey both need a change in their lives. It was lovely to see them find what they need in each other. This is my first book by this writer and I am impressed with the characters and emotional depth of the story.
